    The Barnes & The Art of the Steal

    This was the reason for going to Philadelphia — to visit the Barnes Collection, particularly before it closes and moves to its new facility, across the river and down the road as you enter the city on the Philadelphia Parkway. You won’t be able to miss it and millions of people are expected to attend. At least, the Philadelphia Museum of Art is banking on it. It is the most extensive, impressive and diverse private art collection in the world, worth billions and probably priceless.     Philadelphia Photos

    While walking around Philadelphia we took a few photos worth posting and some of these are from our hotel, Hyatt at The Bellevue at 200 Broad Street. It is an historic building with Old World Charm with a mix of modern interior details. Our hotel was wonderful and we just had to get dinner at their Nineteen Restaurant before touring.     Painting Winter Woods

    If you’re stuck inside, with all this winter snow, this step-by-step process of how to paint snow in the winter woods is a great instructional exercise to pass the time using pastel painting with watercolors. I’ve never used the two together and this was highly informative — particularly for achieving that translucent hue of snow. How do you paint white with color?
