    Waves

We’re getting ready to head to the beach. I’ll be taking work along, unfortunately, as I had a hard drive crash and have to reformat all our new images for casart coverings, coming out this fall. Fortunately I’m almost done. Hey, I’m wondering if anyone else out there got the Shankar, Happy Birthday virus timed to go off on July 25th — his birthday? Rebel’s Rest

We just returned recently from picking up our son from his school in Sewanee, TN. We were fortunate to stay at Rebel’s Rest — an on campus inn for alumni, guests and travelers. I was pleased with the quiet, cozy ambiance and the artwork captured the essence of overlooking the bluff. As the University had just ended it’s school session, we’ll have to check back in the fall to finally see those restored watercolors of the domain.

    Sand Dance

This is unusual — sand dance art by Peter Donnelly. I discovered this on the Celestial Dreams blog and subsequently on Environmental Graffiti.  Click the links for the full story and video describing his creative process. I imagine he’d have to have a calm, non-windy day to do this and with lots of patience. The concept kinda reminds me of Zen-like, Asian sand/rock gardens. I’ll have to keep this in mind as I’m traveling to pick up my son from school and remember the calm in this when we return. Happy Memorial Day!
