    Birds of a Feather

    I’m posting this for Thanksgiving Day but don’t think about that bird because these are a lot of feathers…This is pretty incredible feather art by Kate MccGwire. Toby Lightman is perfect for this post with her Alone from Bird on a Wire album, and for Kick Starting the Weekend. Keep listening for Angels and Demons, another good one. I like her jazzy, bluesy style. Here’s hoping you are enjoying this Thanksgiving with friends and or family.

    Fall 2010 Art & Exhibit Roundup

    It will be hard to remember amidst all the upcoming holiday activities but here is the latest roundup of exhibitions to keep your eye on and hopefully attend this fall.     That’s Effen for Effen Vodka, which in Dutch means: 1) smooth, 2) even, 3) balanced and cleverly is “a five letter word.” It certainly is but there’s a story to go with it. I will start here with giving them high credit for their branding, which is some of the best I’ve seen. I love the clean, sleek look of their design and the play on words. I even like Effen vodka and it’s now our “house” brand. Kettle One still takes the cake for straight flavor taste — if you like vodka.
