    Feeling Friday the 13th

    Typically this day has been very unlucky for me in the past but I’m trying to shake that spell. Shaking out the spooks with this desert snake…You never know where you’re going to find art, like in the Las Vegas airport. Here’s a picture of my sister and her kids sitting on some fun sculpture.     Knoxville

    Traveling from Sewanee, TN to Alexandria, VA takes close to 11 hours. We decided to take an overnight pit-stop in Knoxville, TN to break up the drive on the way back home. We stayed in a contemporary hotel overlooking World Fair Park. The town was pretty quiet (maybe due to the holiday) but very pleasant. There were a lot of artistic things to see: The World Fair Tower, amphitheater, Bellagio-like fountains, pocket art parks near Market Street and surprising sculptures right in the heart of downtown.     Exhibition/Event Explosion

    There is such a plethora of art exhibitions, information and events that are happening now in my area that I would like to see and be remiss in not mentioning them. I’ll try to list from when they begin and end, first to last with any links that apply:   1) Beautiful flower paintings at Anne Arundel Community College through April 23.
