    Body Art Wonder

    Look closely to see what is hidden. I recently learned about Emma Hack, the Australian artist through the blog Existing Visual (from previous Wednesday’s post) and I was surprised to learn that body painting can be taken to the next level with her wonderful talent. See her website for more mesmerizing images. Her art is pretty remarkable, particularly her pattern work. I can’t help but love the blue butterflies, since it’s my signature image.     Newly Discovered

    While I was in Rhode Island last week, a coincidental discovery occurred — just in time for me to insert into the Monday Mural posts. Lost or forgotten murals at University of RI (URI) were recently discovered behind dry wall that was installed during a renovation in Edward’s Hall. They were painted in the 1940’s by Gino Conti as part of the Federal WPA effort (Works Projects Administration, during the Depression to help artists have income.     Sketchers

    I love to sketch and I do draw a lot of artwork for my business. I just haven’t had the time to do a lot of sketching lately. Ideally, I should be doing at least one sketch a day. I was inspired to get back into it and while on vacation when I saw the blog Urban Sketchers. This is fantastic! It’s not just urban sites but sketches of all different locations, for example: a view of the cabin while seated inside an airplane, people at a concert, landscapes and buildings and the First International Portland Urban Sketchers Symposium (I’m glad to know about this).
