Being connected to others strengthens your energy and creativity to produce art. 9-11 is a hallowed day to remember that the connections to others are vital….Let’s not forget. Here’s a quote I like: “Contrary to how we’ve been taught to value independence and autonomy, this new scientific evidence is showing that we are at our best when we are connected with others. Butterflies
I love butterflies, what can I say?! I like that bugs can be beautiful. There’s something odd about that dichotomy. Our casart coverings logo has the transformation of a butterfly from a prickly caterpillar to a beautiful Blue Morpho. It represents the life cycle’s transformation and beauty that can occur everyday, right under our noses. As it happens, butterflies are quite “in” these days in design, from jewelry, plates, lampshades, notecards, cachepots, fabric and even advertisements. Performance Art on the Plinth
A new ongoing performance art project has started for the people of UK called One & Other, where everyday until October 14th participants can submit photos as living portraits that will occupy the vacant Fourth Plinth in Trafalgar Square in London. If your submission is drawn, you’ll also gain a performance spot on the Plinth. This pedestal has been reserved for statues of kings and generals but it is currently empty — unless you want to fill with your own creation. This is an interactive artistic experiment led by sculpture Antony Gormley. I’m not sure how truly artistic this is, except that it’s an open mike for being creative and…
