Butterflies
I love butterflies, what can I say?! I like that bugs can be beautiful. There’s something odd about that dichotomy. Our casart coverings logo has the transformation of a butterfly from a prickly caterpillar to a beautiful Blue Morpho. It represents the life cycle’s transformation and beauty that can occur everyday, right under our noses. As it happens, butterflies are quite “in” these days in design, from jewelry, plates, lampshades, notecards, cachepots, fabric and even advertisements. Design in Melbourne
I ran across this blog a while back called The Design Files. I was struck by one of the American artists who she profiled, Chelsea James. She had first been seen on Design Sponge. Her work is wonderful. I find it a bit mysterious with masterful execution. Just look at how real this plastic bag looks. I really enjoy her painting series on shoes.
