As I’ve said before, one never knows where they might find art. This posting started with the weekly check of my older son’s college, UVA’s Pictures of the Week. There was a lecture at the Architecture School given on March 19th by Bill Fontana, who is a pioneer in the art of Sound Sculptures. What’s the best medicine for a hectic week, being sick, and just an stressful month in general — besides a cocktail? Humor! I have a million and one things I could post but I can’t think of anything that would bring more of a smile than these funny yet clever, trompe l’oeil murals on the Visual Funhouse blog, which explores everything that has to do with optical illusions. Spring Break
While on spring break, my boys and I took an outing to one of my favorite spots to view nature and get inspiration for drawing, River Farm Park, which is also the headquarters to the American Horticultural Society. I drew an invitation to one of their galas, which can be seen here on my website. Anyway, we had been coming here for years so I thought it would be a good break from being indoors.
