Slipcovers for Your Walls
This past electronic art exhibit (below), in its ability to demonstrate the ocean bed through electronic dots, reminds me of a beachy Slipcovers for Your Walls blog post today. This is a new blog that I’ve started for casart coverings along with the casart crew — solely related to ways to use casart™ and interior design. Murals Made with Unusual Materials
Painted Euros, nails, toothpicks, corks and incredible mosaics are all unusual materials used by artists to create murals. Although not actual painted Euros but the imagery of painted Euros creates this shark mural by Blu in Barcelona as seen on Colectiva’s Daily Blog. Saimir Strati creates murals with nails, toothpicks and corks — all sorts of everyday materials. Here’s one as seen on Eller G’s blog of Leonardo. A Couple of Exhibits
My Helsinki through May 31st looks intriguing; although, since I’ve been traveling, I’m not sure I’ll be able to see it, except for this weekend. I like the concept of cast off treasures becoming “Everyday Monuments” by Jean Shin as part of the Common Threads exhibit at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Her “Chance City” comprised of lottery tickets as a House of Cards, changes daily as onlookers walk by it and cards fall. It runs through July 26th.
