Getting More with Your Money
These incredible origami images came to me through an email. They were originally created by Master Origami Artist, Won Park. He has made all of these from folding mostly one and in some cases two dollar bills (where noted). Origami is the ancient art of Japanese paper folding to create a representational image by folding a sheet of paper, without gluing, cutting or pasting. Copenhagen
I’m just now getting a chance to post pictures from my husband’s trip to Copenhagen for the COP15 conference. You’ll see from many of them, except for the inside of the Global Warming Climate Conference, how bitter cold it was outside. His hotel was right near Tivoli, the famous amusement park and gardens: Evidently, eating hot nuts, often found on street stands, is the thing to do in Denmark. Luckily he was able to take an excursion to Helsinger, which is where Kronborg castle also known as Hamlet’s castle, Elsinor, is located. I like how dramatic yet sparsely decorated the interiors are. Art of the Cocktail
Happy New Year! In light of celebrating, I view the perfect cocktail as art, especially one with pure ingredients, made “from scratch,” as we’d say in baking. Not many people, however, go to such extremes to make their own mixers like tonic water, but Todd Thrasher of Restaurant Eve and PX speakeasy (down the street from me), makes sure to take these measures. My husband’s and my favorite cocktail is called The Last Word.
