Butterflies
I love butterflies, what can I say?! I like that bugs can be beautiful. There’s something odd about that dichotomy. Our casart coverings logo has the transformation of a butterfly from a prickly caterpillar to a beautiful Blue Morpho. It represents the life cycle’s transformation and beauty that can occur everyday, right under our noses. As it happens, butterflies are quite “in” these days in design, from jewelry, plates, lampshades, notecards, cachepots, fabric and even advertisements. Waves
We’re getting ready to head to the beach. I’ll be taking work along, unfortunately, as I had a hard drive crash and have to reformat all our new images for casart coverings, coming out this fall. Fortunately I’m almost done. Hey, I’m wondering if anyone else out there got the Shankar, Happy Birthday virus timed to go off on July 25th — his birthday? It’s an old one but attached itself to my Word documents on my Mac and they became corrupted when I got an infected virus from my former marketing folks’ attachments. Fortunately, I have a Mac so even though it was a pain, it was easily fixed.…
Moon Artist
I clipped the story about Alan Bean, the fourth man to walk on the moon. Since it’s the 40th anniversary of the first walk on the moon by Apollo 12, I thought it would be fitting to post. He no longer considers himself an astronaut, even though he was there and uses his understanding about the lighting on the moon for accuracy in his paintings, throwing in a little moon dust here and there.
